This article outlines the most common issues users may encounter when using the Parcel Freight app with Shopify, along with recommended solutions.
1. Shipping Rates Not Displaying at Checkout #
Possible causes:
- Carrier-calculated shipping is not enabled in your Shopify plan
- Products are missing weight or dimensions
- Loadlink Live Rates has not been added to your shipping profile
- The entered address is incomplete or invalid
- API credentials are incorrect or expired
What to check:
- Go to Settings → Shipping and Delivery → Shipping Profiles and confirm that Loadlink Live Rates is added
- Open each product and confirm weight and size fields are populated
- Go to Apps → Loadlink and confirm API credentials are saved
- Test with a known valid Australian address
2. Inaccurate Rate Calculations #
Possible causes:
- Product data is incorrect or inconsistent
- Pickup or delivery is set to residential when it should be commercial
- Rates are being adjusted by another app or script
What to check:
- Review each product’s shipping details
- Check your app settings for building type configuration
- Disable other shipping apps and retest
3. No Shipping Options Available #
Possible causes:
- Shipping zone does not cover the entered destination
- All items in the cart are missing required freight data
- Address is outside the supported service area
What to check:
- Confirm your shipping zone includes Australia or relevant postcodes
- Ensure each product in the cart has weight and dimensions
- Try a different address within a metro or regional area
4. App Fails to Return Rates for Bundled or Digital Products #
Reason:
Parcel Freight only supports physical products with valid shipping data. Virtual or digital products will not return freight quotes.
Solution:
Exclude virtual products from shipping or ensure at least one physical product with shipping data is in the cart.
5. Conflicts With Other Apps #
Symptoms:
Checkout fails to load rates or displays unexpected options.
What to check:
- Identify any active apps modifying checkout or shipping
- Disable these apps one at a time to isolate the conflict
- Retest after each change
