Address validation errors can prevent shipping rates from appearing or cause bookings to fail. This article outlines the common causes of address-related issues and how to resolve them when using the Parcel Freight integration.
Address Validation for Bookings #
The Parcel Freight system requires complete and valid address data to calculate accurate shipping rates. Incomplete, misspelled, or incorrectly formatted addresses may return no rates or result in booking errors after checkout.
Common Address Issues #
1. Missing or incomplete fields
- Postcode, suburb, or state is left blank
- Unit number or street number is missing
2. Invalid postcode or suburb combination
- Postcode does not match the suburb or state
- Typographical errors in the suburb name
3. Non-Australian address
- Parcel Freight only supports domestic shipping within Australia
- International addresses will not return rates
4. Formatting issues
- Extra spaces or special characters in address fields
- Capitalisation or punctuation errors
How to Resolve Address Errors #
For Store Owners:
- Confirm that your default Store Location is correctly set under Settings → Locations
- Test using known valid addresses such as major metro areas
- Train customers to enter postcodes and suburb names carefully
For Customers:
- Ensure all address fields are completed during checkout
- Use standard spelling and avoid abbreviations
- Double-check postcode and suburb match using Australia Post tools if needed
