The Parcel Freight Shopify app allows store owners to offer live freight rates from Loadlink directly at checkout. This integration is designed for merchants who need accurate shipping quotes for parcel freight across Australia.
This article outlines the installation and setup process for Shopify store owners.
Requirements #
Before installing the app, make sure:
- You have a Shopify store (Basic plan or above)
- Carrier-calculated shipping is enabled (this may require contacting Shopify support if not on the Advanced or Plus plan)
- You have an active Loadlink Parcel Freight account
- Your products include weight and dimensions
Installation Steps #
- Visit the Loadlink app listing (link to be provided if public)
- Click Install App and follow the prompts to authorise access
- Log in using your Loadlink API credentials
- Configure your store’s origin address and default freight settings
- Save your configuration to activate the connection
The app will now be ready to calculate real-time freight rates during checkout.
Product Data Setup #
To return accurate rates, all products must include:
- Weight (in kilograms)
- Dimensions (length, width, height in centimetres)
These fields are required by the Loadlink API to calculate cubic or dead weight.
Shipping Profile Configuration #
- Go to Shopify Admin → Settings → Shipping and Delivery
- Under Shipping profiles, select the profile you want to edit
- Ensure your zones include Australia as a shipping region
- Select Loadlink Live Rates as the shipping method
- Save the profile
Rates will now appear at checkout based on the customer’s address and the items in their cart.
Testing the Integration #
You can test the connection by:
- Adding a product to the cart
- Proceeding to checkout
- Entering a valid Australian address
- Confirming that live freight rates are displayed
If rates do not appear, ensure product data is complete and that the app has been authorised correctly.
Support #
If you encounter any issues during setup:
- Check that all products include weight and size
- Confirm carrier-calculated shipping is enabled in your plan
- Contact Loadlink support with your store name and issue details
