Once the Parcel Freight Shopify app is installed and configured, it’s important to test the checkout experience to confirm that shipping rates are working correctly. This article outlines how to run basic checks using your store’s front end.
Before You Test #
Ensure the following are in place:
- All products have weight and dimensions
- The app is installed and connected using valid API credentials
- Loadlink Live Rates is added to your Shopify shipping profile
- Your store address is set in Settings → Store details → Locations
- Carrier-calculated shipping is enabled in your Shopify plan
Testing Steps #
- Go to your storefront
- Add a product to the cart
- Proceed to the Checkout page
- Enter a valid Australian shipping address
- Confirm that Loadlink freight rates appear under the shipping options
Rates will be based on the product size, weight, and the customer’s destination address.
What to Check #
During testing, verify that:
- Rates are shown without delay
- The amount reflects the item’s size and weight
- Multiple shipping options appear (if available)
- No errors or blank fields appear at checkout
Try entering both residential and commercial addresses to confirm how different surcharges may apply.
If Rates Do Not Appear #
Review the following:
- Check that each product has complete shipping data
- Confirm the API connection is active
- Make sure the entered address is within a supported delivery area
- Review your Shopify shipping zones and profiles
- Ensure no third-party app is overriding shipping methods
Testing should be repeated each time new products or configurations are added.
