To display Parcel Freight rates at checkout, Loadlink must be added as a shipping method within a WooCommerce shipping zone. Shipping zones are used to define where you ship to and what methods are available for each region.
This article explains how to set up and configure shipping zones to work with the Loadlink Live Rates plugin.
What Is a Shipping Zone? #
A shipping zone is a defined group of postcodes, states, or countries. Each zone can have one or more shipping methods assigned. When a customer enters a shipping address, WooCommerce matches it to a zone and displays the relevant rates.
How to Set Up a Shipping Zone for Loadlink #
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping
- Click Add Shipping Zone
- Enter a Zone Name (e.g. Australia)
- Define the Region (e.g. Australia or selected postcodes)
- Click Add Shipping Method
- Select Loadlink Live Rates from the list
- Click Add Shipping Method again to confirm
- Edit the Loadlink method to adjust settings if required
- Click Save Changes
You can create multiple zones if you need different rules for domestic, regional, or remote locations.
Recommended Settings #
- Use one general zone for all Australian postcodes unless you need custom behaviour for certain areas
- Add Loadlink Live Rates to any zone where you want Parcel Freight rates to appear
- Remove or disable any default flat rates if not needed
Testing Your Zone Configuration #
After setting up the shipping zones:
- Add a product to your cart
- Proceed to checkout
- Enter a test address in a supported area
- Confirm that Loadlink rates appear
If no rates are shown, review the product’s shipping data, zone configuration, and API setup.
